Momma Cate Travels Alot

Momma Cate has been traveling alot right now so E'llee and I have been enjoying our time the past few weeks.

Although E'llee keeps me very busy I enjoy it immensely. We settle into our own routine and have our own means of communicating. I will say it was a god send to have 1 night where God Mamma Etta and E'llee had her first sleep over. A full nights sleep. Unheard of these days.

Yes, E'llee still sleeps with us. She has her own bed next to ours but during the night she crawls into bed with us. She usually sleeps with her body running the length of the pillows so it's a good thing we have a king sized bed because she take up 1/2 the bed for herself.

She is an amazing little girl. She is learning to so fast. She knows several words to identify objects and can readily identify objects when you ask her to point to the fire engine.

She LOVES Tawnie. When I call Tawnie to come eat she has her own name for Tawnie and also starts yelling for her. I don't know exactly how to spell what she yells but I think she is trying to say Monster (Tawnie's nick name). Tawnie's not such a fan except during meals because E'llee always makes sure she gets some food.

Last weekend we went to visit Grandma D. We went to the pumpkin farm with Danae and Greg and E'llee had a great time riding in the wheel barrow, picking out pumpkins and going down the slide. We visited the animals but the pigs had a little fight and it scared E'llee. E'llee also got to play with Cousin Kim's boy William who is a couple months older than E'llee. E'llee had no problem holding her own with William. Let's just say sharing is not her strong point.

We also went to the Playland at McDonalds because it was raining. E'llee had a great time chasing Greg and Danae and then sliding down the big slide with Danae. She LOVES playing with her cousins.

I won't even defend myself...  I am definitely ready to take E'llee to Disneyland just waiting for the right time.

A good park has to have swings

A must for E'llee is a good swing.

First Real Parental Leave Day

My leave is a combination of time for myself and for E'llee.

Yesterday, E'llee and I got up and rode to 24 Hour Fitness where she got to play in the Kids club and I took a spin class.

After that we rode to Rebuilders Center to look for some carpeting and then home.

Then we took a nap and played the rest of the afternoon.

That evening E'llee helped Cate and I shop for a new mattress. She thinks we picked the right one. It will probably be impossible to get her out of our bed now!

Tonight you took your first step. You were in the kitchen hanging onto the back of my legs then you let go and took a step. You surprised yourself and fell but it was your first.

11 Months

E'llee turned 11 months yesterday.

She is hitting lots of firsts right now.

She got her first wading pool and had a blast this past weekend playing in the pool in the hot weather.

She ate her first peanut butter (no allergic reaction)

Was baby sat by a stranger, (at Sarah and John's) and did just fine until we came in.

She still only has 4 teeth but we are sure that they are just around the corner.

This week she has been not feeling well. She has been running a fever and really cranky. I think it's because she is teething although all the books say no fever but there are no other symptoms except lack of appetite.

All is well. She is a happy, happy little girl. Getting to be very social and communicative. She is such a blessing.

What we 've done this week

Monday we went to the beach and the zoo with Danae.

Tuesday we were home and we went for a long run in the morning and then hung out at home

Wednesday you played with Shirley and Jeff in the morning and then you and I went on a bike ride with you in the buggy. Then godmom Etta and I and you went to IKEA where you got a new pink hippo. Then we had dinner with etta too. It was a good evening

Thursday I worked in the morning and then put some temporary carpeting down in the kitchen so you can crawl around.

Friday was a VERY good day. Grandma Cate came home so we picked her up at the airport amd spent the afternoon with her

This morning we went for a run. You are wearing your first jogging suit. You slept the whole time and then we came home and took another nap because you had a rough night last night.

I have tried for awhile to see if E'llee would eat cheese. She didn't seem to be a fan of it until yesterday.

Oregon Coast at 7 months

Tomorrow E'llee turns 7 months and so far I don't think she has been very impressed as she has slept a lot the past two days. It must make her hungry too because it feels like she is ready to eat about ever y couple hours.

GROWTH SpURT I'm sure

Tonight we'll go swimming for the second time. E'llee is very comfortable in the water in the tub. I hope it will translate to the pool. We'll see

This morning was a new thing. Squealing. Squealing like a stuck pig as they say. All joyful noises. Its so fun watching all the new little things every day. It reminds me how m$uch we can learn every day if we stay open to it.

Precious Moments

So Cate was out of town for the first time in a long time. So I had E'llee by myself. So yesterday morning E'llee started squirming around 4am so I woke up and couldn't get back to sleep. So I laid there watching her sleep and start waking up.

It was one of those wonderfully joyful moments. Watching her eyes open see me and smile and then reach out toward me and start grabbing my nose and cooing. It was one of those perfect moments. We laid in bed for the next half hour just talking quietly back and forth. A brilliant way to sart the day.
